My Visit to the Wolf 359 System where a Borg Cube Destroyed an Entire Fleet of Starfleet Vessels.
Featuring My Galaxy Class Ship and also YEAH! Im a Captain.
during star trek TNG Akiras did not exist at the time and were not at the battle of wolf 359. They were first shown in the movie First Contact against the Borg cube. I think you were thinking of that. Also the Defiant was first brought out in DS9 to fight the Dominion so it also did not exist during the time of wolf 359
i swear the federation must have some serious shipyard around since they got a beating with 1 borg ship then there was the insane fight at ds9, every attack on earth so far would have normally crippled the federation, now there at all war a dozen different types of races with the borg having some form of foot hold near our system
@liptonBlueBirdAdd What? There is no propaganda. 39 Federation ships plus a few Klingon ships were destroyed at 359.
Entire ships and thousands of people were lost. You can't cover up losses on that scale. People would have quickly found out the truth if the Federation tried.
@bluBob I've two theories for that (at least the Akira): 1.Akiras have older registry numbers, so it's possible they existed before we the audience saw them. -OR- 2. A Defiant and an Akira were taking a tour of Wolf 359 years after the battle, but a helmsman was too busy texting on his phone to notice the other ship and crashed into it.
@x82ndODSTx That makes sense. But I feel like they might have cleaned it up out of respect for those lost and just to make warping through that area safer. You know what I mean?
@notablegoat That's a good point… I guess they just put this in for the sake of a "easter egg" in the game for anyone who would recognize the place where the fleet was wiped out. I'm not sure what they did in the Star Trek timeline, but this is how they portray it in the game. That said, they also included the wreaks of ship classes that weren't in that time period (Akira, Defiant, Saber, etc.).
@DOOMVSHALO The whole story was supposed to be that they did a massive buildup after 359, as well as pulling back alot of ships that were way the hell out on exploration missions.
It did seem a bit unrealistic though, they go from 40 ships hurting their defense to 1000 ship fleets roaming around.
To all the people that are asking why SF never cleans up wolf, well it's supposed to be a graveyard. Literally. Like the wreck of the Arizona at Pearl Harbor. Hundreds of sailors are still entombed in the ship.
this was a nice show of the devasation caused by the borg craft. first wolf 359 was never cleaned up and most likely never will be it is considered a burial ground..and to disturb one is not considered wise. now the defiant class and akira can be explained they needed models. neither class was truly built yet defiant is the prototype for her class. the technology being worked on was her weapons armor and shields
Can someone tell me what classes of ships these are in the debris field? Some of them look like the Vesper class, and other sub-variants of the Constitution class featured in STO.
Before anyone says, I know there are official lists of the canon ships that were present at Wolf 359, but the ones here look different so I'm just curious.

17.05.2023Or that if you look closely, you can find the wreckage of Defiant and Akira class ships… neither of which existed at the time of the battle.

16.05.2023@ech0seeker 39 was the propaganda number released by the federation. I bet the real losses were much higher!

16.05.2023@1tym4u However, according to the story of the Defiant, it was originally designed to fight the Borg

15.05.2023They didn't try to clean up the sector at all? I mean, there's probably still bodies in those ship bits! Nobody tried to get them?
Jon Parker
15.05.2023@notablegoat They probably went in to recover the crew (alive or dead), but why would they take back the wreaks of ships that they can't salvage?
Dylan Jeninga

15.05.2023@x82ndODSTx Well, 'tis an awesome, if inaccurate easter egg. Now the question is, do the Borg actually kick that much butt in the game?

14.05.2023@roflmao897 In a game maybe, not in real life.AAgain it's a graveyard, it would be a huge disrespect to the dead to "trade" ships there.

14.05.2023Oh, if I could have a ,,mobile dock" I could fix/use as assembles these ships… It can be rebuilded the fleet, which destroyed here…
Perhaps as some sidekick units. In STO can be leaded only one ship Or there is a chance for have more?

14.05.2023@nxmoparmatt84 I will admit I know this is a game but this system kinda scares me the Crew of the Ming and the leonardo davinci stay away from here!
